Biography: Megan is a Nevada native, and interior designer in the Reno/Tahoe community. A single mother of two daughters, she couldn't imagine what was in store for her when the Second Judicial District Court came crashing into her and her children's lives. For three years she struggled through a series of acrimonious child custody proceedings. Domestic violence was a prominent issue throughout her litigation, as well as substance abuse and alcohol abuse. With little to no legal experience, she defendant against a litany of contempt and modification motions, and ultimately succeeded in obtaining primary physical custody of her daughters after securing a number of crucial witnesses at an evidentiary hearing, including police officers and mental health professionals. This incredible struggle made her passionate about domestic violence prevention and intervention. She encourages every loving and devoted parent to continue supporting their children through the family court process and it seemed only natural to join on as the Northern Nevada coordinator.
