Diana Sullivan was born and raised in Las Vegas. She attended college at the University of Nevada Reno and in 1989 graduated magna cum laude with a degree in Criminal Justice. In 1992 she graduated from the University of San Diego School of Law. She started her legal career in 1992 at the litigation firm of Jones, Jones Close & Brown (subsequently Jones Vargas) and became a partner in 2001. In 2004 she opened the law firm of Ghanem & Sullivan. During her 17 years of civil practice, she focused in the areas of business and real estate law and commercial landlord/tenant litigation, presided as a private arbitrator, and provided pro bono civil representation for litigants who could not afford to pay a lawyer. In November 2008 she was elected to the Justice Court bench in Department 12 of the Las Vegas Township. She has presided over a criminal docket for the past 10 years. She is the current President of the Nevada Judges of Limited Jurisdiction, Nevada’s statewide organization of limited jurisdiction judges. In addition to her caseload and administrative duties, she is the Chair of the Las Vegas Justice Court Local Rules Committee and a member of the Clark County Criminal Justice Coordinating Council. she regularly speaks to and teaches at various panels and classes relative to matters within the Justice Court’s jurisdiction, judges mock trial competitions, and has mentored for the Clark County School District’s Reclaim Your Future Program for several years. When she is not working, she likes to travel, and watch and attend various professional and college sporting events including football, basketball, baseball, and hockey. She is married to attorney Sean Sullivan and they have two sons in college.
